Challenge Alaska has great volunteer opportunities for those who wish to become involved and learn more about working with people with disabilities. Challenge Alaska would not exist if it were not for our many hard-working volunteers.
Ski SchoolThe Challenge Alaska Ski & Snowboard School needs volunteers November 1 - April 15, to teach skiing and snowboarding to individuals with disabilities. Therapeutic RecreationThe Challenge Alaska Therapeutic Recreation Programs in Anchorage and the Mat-Su valley need volunteers year round to assist with sports and recreation program for individuals with disabilities. Examples include: soccer, snowshoeing, book club, hiking, camping, cooking group, snow machining, fishing, rafting, etc., Be a volunteer coach for a disabled sports clinic, assist with equipment maintenance such as handcycles, sport wheelchairs, outdoor equipment, etc., Become a mentor or buddy to someone who needs assistance with a weekly recreational interest such as going to the gym, golfing, book club, etc., Be a reading tutor. - Download the Volunteer form and FAX to Leah at 907.344.7349 |
