Ski School

The Challenge Alaska Ski & Snowboard School needs volunteers November 1 - April 15, to teach skiing and snowboarding to individuals with disabilities. Additional volunteer opportunities are available including: building maintenance, office assistance, program administration, and more.

Therapeutic Recreation

The Challenge Alaska Therapeutic Recreation Programs in Anchorage and the Mat-Su valley need volunteers year round to assist with sports and recreation program for individuals with disabilities. Examples include: soccer, snowshoeing, book club, hiking, camping, cooking group, snow machining, fishing, rafting, etc.,

Be a volunteer coach for a disabled sports clinic, assist with equipment maintenance such as handcycles, sport wheelchairs, outdoor equipment, etc.,

Become a mentor or buddy to someone who needs assistance with a weekly recreational interest such as going to the gym, golfing, book club, etc., Be a reading tutor.

Special Events & Fundraising

Volunteers are essential to the success of Challenge Alaska's many exciting special events and fundraisers throughout the year. Volunteers are needed for:
