Challenge Alaska Adaptive Ski and Snowboard School was established at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska in 1995. A beautiful, 4,500 square foot accessible facility was built on the slope side of the beginner hill and is the same building used today for the Challenge Alaska ski school.
The ski school back door literally opens right onto the ski area, with splendid views of the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm. Inside there is a full kitchen, comfortable great room with couches and fireplace, and a full service rental shop.
Alyeska Resort
From the beginning, Alyeska Resort has been a generous donor and supportive partner, helping Challenge develop into one of the nation’s top adaptive ski schools. Without this continuing partnership Challenge Alaska could not deliver the high caliber of services for people with disabilities. Please visit the resort website for more info about this terrific ski area and the services they offer.
