Wheelchair Ultimate Frisbee

One of the newer sports to be adapted for wheelchair athletes is ultimate wheelchair frisbee. It's played indoors on a

basketball court. The rules are the same as traditional ultimate - if the frisbee touches the ground the possession changes to the other team. All four wheels must be in the goal area for a team to score. Your bottom must stay securely attached to the chair at all times, nor can you use your feet or legs in any way to assist you.

The Wheelchair Ultimate Frisbee season is April-May of each year. We meet on Wednesday's at Spenard Recreation Center and play "drop-in" style, choosing different teams each week. Admission is $3 per person. Power wheelchair users are invited to play. Manual and non-wheelchair users need sport wheelchairs, available for a $2 fee in limited sizes.
