PaddleFest 2012

Challenge Alaska is pleased to announce a new event for summer 2012 - PaddleFest. This event is a collaborative effort between Challenge Alaska, Disabled Sports USA’s Warfighter Sports Program, Anchorage Parks & Recreation and the Alaska Kayak School.  This event will provide an introduction to paddling wide variety of craft including but not limited to:

  • PaddleFest 2012
  • Whitewater canoes
  • Two person canoes
  • Sea kayaks
  • Sit on top kayaks
  • Tandem kayaks
  • River kayaks
  • Paddleboard

This event is ONE DAY ONLY - Thursday June 21, 2012 and is an ALL DAY event from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. The event will include lunch, drinks and possibly a barbeque dinner afterwards. This event will be held at Goose Lake Park near the UAA Campus.

There are only 10 spots available, so register as soon as possible. The cost includes all equipment needed (boats, oars/paddles, splash suits, personal flotation devices).....we'll provide you with a list of clothing items to wear that day, as well as recommend sunscreen and paddling gloves.

Instruction is provided by certified professionals from Alaska Kayak School (2 instructors) and assistance provided by Challenge Alaska staff.
