Challenge Alaska to Host Adaptive Equipment Open House

Challenge Alaska will host an adaptive equipment open house on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The open house will take place at the Mountain View office located at 3350 Commercial Drive. Equipment will be featured in the south parking lot accessed via Mountain View Drive, with half of the parking lot taped off to provide room for equipment demos. The open house will take place rain or shine, so dress for the weather.


Equipment featured will include sport wheelchairs, tandem  bikes, a recumbent trike, an adult trike, a Kili Cart, a Tera Trak, two open cockpit kayaks, a Port-A-Boat, racing wheelchairs, adaptive golf clubs, hockey sleds, therapeutic bikes, adaptive water skis, adaptive nordic skis, an off-road handcycle, several upright youth and adult handcycles, and several youth and adult racing handcycles. adaptive cycles, wheelchair racers, and even some non-adaptive equipment. Bring a bike helmet if you want to ride one of the cycles as Challenge Alaska has almost no helmets. Better yet, bring a helmet to donate to our cycling program!


All persons wishing to demo equipment will have to sign (or have a legal guardian sign) a waiver prior to trying any equipment. The waiver can be downloaded in advance, printed and signed. If bringing a waiver signed by someone that will not be present at the event, please contact our staff prior to coming.
