Farewell to Mark Hufford

markLong time Challenge Alaska athlete Mark Hufford passed away January 26, 2011. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hufford family. Mark was one of the most positive people we have ever known; he epitomized the spirit of Challenge Alaska. He loved handcycling and competed in the Sadler’s Alaska Challenge seven times from 1999 to 2007. He won the Speedy Sourdough Award for fastest Alaskan at least 2 times. Mark could often be seen training on the bike trails between Anchorage and Eagle River always with a huge smile on his face. Mark you will be missed by all of us who knew and loved you.

A Memorial Service for Mark will be held on Saturday February 5th at 1:30 pm at Saint Andrews Church in Eagle River, Alaska.
